Sunday was designated as a family day for the guest students. The day began with a breakfast of churros, offering a delightful introduction to Spanish culinary traditions. The host family then organized an excursion to a mountain near Chillón, renowned for its statue of the Virgin Mary. This gathering allowed for interaction with students from Germany, Italy, and Slovakia, promoting intercultural exchange and camaraderie.
In the afternoon, the group attended the Vaquilla festival in Almadenejos, which features a reenactment of traditional bullfighting using a young cow. This cultural event provided unique insights into Spanish customs and traditions, which differ significantly from those in Germany. The evening was spent with the host family, sharing a meal and engaging in conversation. The Family Day experience was particularly enriching, offering meaningful engagement with the host family and a deeper understanding of Spanish culture. The warm hospitality and cultural immersion contributed significantly to the overall success of the exchange.
