The presentation of the Erasmus+-project “Jakob Fugger a historical European influencer” at the OSZ in Sterzing

It was a memorable evening, full of moments of pride, moments of joy, moments of tears….

Parents, teachers, the headmistress, politicians, press representatives and the protagonists of the project, the class 3r of the OSZ Sterzing, gathered in the lobby of the school building on 5th June 2023 at 6.30 pm to present three years of work, travel, research, and social bonding. Three years of programming and planning, research, creative work, online exchanges and mobilities came alive: The recent stay in Banska Bystrica, the week in Augsburg, the flight to Almaden and the learning experiences in Antwerp were revived vividly. After a musical opening the project coordinator, Ms Andrea Mayr and the headmistress DDr. Anna Putzer welcomed the guests with brief introductory words. The town councilor, Dr V. Debiasi praised the effort the students had demonstrated both during one regular school year and pandemic-stricken times at school.

The project group surprised with a variety of presentational skills: the audience was entertained with   street polls, Kahoot questionnaires, picture galleries, posters, brochures, biographies, video clips, podcasts and even national goodies they had been served while staying in the families of their project partners.  It was an impressive virtual return to the different European locations where the students had cooperated with their respective hosts. Finally, students held back tears at the memory of hosting students from the partner schools in September 2022 in Sterzing.

This Erasmus+-project has created awareness of European history and the students’ common cultural heritage.
